Tips For Preventing Breast Cancer

Breast-Cancer-PreventionThe following is a list of things you can do to reduce your risk of developing breast cancer:

1. Maintain your Vitamin D levels:

Ask your doctor to test your D3 levels (25-OH Vit D3) by a simple blood draw.  By maintaining your levels above 50  (not 20!), you greatly reduce your risk of developing both breast and colon cancer!

2. Are your hormones balanced?

The #1 risk factor for developing breast cancer is the amount of estrogen exposure you have had in your lifetime.  Many women have hormone imbalances which increase their risk of cancer. Take ourHORMONE QUIZ to find out if you may be showing signs of hormone imbalance, and learn how to fix it!

3. Avoid carcinogenic substances & chemicals known to affect hormone levels:

Environmental factors such as pesticides, chemicals, radiation, charbroiled meats, and silicone implants have been linked to breast cancer.  Eat organic animal products, avoid pesticides, and  avoid plastics as much as possible.  These substances leech “xeno-estrogens” (strong “foreign” estrogens) into our food and water, disrupting our hormone balance.

4. Annual THERMOGRAPHY Cancer Screenings:

Thermography provides you with the earliest possible detection of unhealthy breast tissue, and it is the BEST way to determine your risk of breast cancer.   If your thermography results indicate that you are at risk for development of breast cancer, you can take charge of your health & your future by working with your naturopathic doctor to formulate a powerful preventative treatment plan.

5. Drink Green Tea:

Green tea contains “EGCG” which helps the immune system to fight tumor cells.  It is also an excellent anti-oxidant, great for your skin, and it tastes good too!

6. Curry Spices (especially Cumin):

Cumin is said to be anti-inflammatory, helpful for

detoxification, and a strong antioxidant.  It has also been shown to have anti-cancer activities, particularly in the breast.

There are many other ways to reduce your risk of cancer, and to improve your general health.
